Before you go out buying more wire, check to see how much wire is included in the dog fencing kit you are purchasing. Many of the dog fences we offer typically come with 500 feet of wire. WIRE GUIDE:

It is vital that ONLY Burial Approved wires be used for your electric dog fencing needs. Since the wire is going to be outside and exposed to the elements, you want a wire that is going to be durable enough to withstand the abuse. Burial Approved wires have a long lasting waterproof Polyurethane coat and a solid copper core.

The standard for many of our dog fencing devices is a 20-Gauge wire. An 18-Guage wire can be purchased with your system with our Wire Upgrade option. A 20-Guage wire is ideal for a yard with little vegetation, few trees, smooth and/or loose soil, and for lying next to a fence. An 18-Guage wire is perfect for a yard with many trees, thick vegetation, rocky soil, and suggested for above ground installation.
